Motive Information

The "Digital Rain" code from The Matrix was created by Simon Whiteley, a production designer on the film. It is based on Japanese characters he borrowed from a cookbook from his Japanese wife. Whiteley combined these katakana characters with Latin letters and numbers to create the iconic green "rain." The code symbolizes the complex, enigmatic world of The Matrix, where reality is digitally generated.
